Dutch shipping from the East Indies to British and American ports lias been absolutely stopped by the Dutch steamship companies, wh:> declare the seizure of Dutch steamers a violation of an alleged agreement with the British Indian Government, in which they guaranteed the non-seizure of the Rotterdam Lloyds, Netherland and Paketvaart fleets in exchange for supplying Dutch tannage at a 'o\v rate. The British Indian Government contradicts the companies' version of ilie agreement. Sugar, rubber and tobacco growers are suffering badly from the stoppage of exports.
