ENTERTAINMENTS

"DADDY LONG LEGS" TO-NIGHT. To-night al the Theatre Royal will be presented the greatest success of recent years, "Daddy Long Legs." Thousands have read Jean Webster's book from which the play has been written, mainly because the authoress is a niece of the late Mark Twain, and the general verdict has lieen "pretty and interesting." In those who had read the book curiosity was aroused as to its treatment and suitability for stage purposes, but the result has been a play that appeals to all classes of play-goers —"an extremely pretty and lovable story, clean, wholesome, and fragrant" is the general verdict. Mr J. B. North plays the role of Daddy Long Legs, and Miss Mabel Bargrove that of Judy (the orphan). A rare treat is in store for local playgoers. Some good central seats are still available at Paul's Book Arcade.
