Matangi.—The report stated that the new school was not sufficiently large to meet lequirements, and classes have to be accommodated in the public hall. Appreciation was expressed of the work of the headmaster (Mr Robinson) and his staff, and votes of condolence and sympathy were passed with the relatives of Eric Libeau, an expupil of the school, who has made the supreme sacrifice. The committee also r»ut on record its sense of the great loss sustained by the district in the death of Mr W. Auld. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of £23 17s. The report was adopted. The resolutions of the Primary Schools' Association and the Educational Institute were endorsed. The election of officers resulted in the return of Messrs W. Lee Martin (chairman), W. J. Trubshaw, J. T. Bryant, L. Judd and Mrs Trubshaw.
