DROWNING ACQSDENT. THAMES, Monday. Yesterday while fishing from a rock near Thames, the tide rose, surrounding the rock, on which were seated Percy Baker and Alfred The latter swam ashore, but Baker, essaying to follow, struck his head while diving, being rendered unconscious and drowned. Deceased was a member of a well-known and highly-esteemed family at' Thames. He has one brother director of the School of Mines and another at the. front. Deceased leaves a widow.
