(Australian and N.Z. and Reuter.) LONDON, Sept. 1. An Egyptian official message says:— "We advanced our line last night on a front of 800 yards south-westward of Gaza. Our losses were insignificant. f)ur aeroplanes made eight direct hits on engine-sheds at Maan, and caused damage to a field battery and other troops.

LONDON, Sep. 1. Since the operations last April there have been no important actions on the Palestine front. The condins on both approach more or less the trench warfare. The opposing lines arc close together near Gaza, md gradually grow apart as they enter the barren inhospitable region further south until they finally tail off altogether in the desert, where the Anzac and Imperial Mounted Divisions keep watch over the right flank.
