TUHIKARAMEA ROAD BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the above Board, Mr F. Livingstone, was voted to the chair, in the absence of Mr Richdale, who sent an apology for absence on the ground of ill-health. Correspondence was read from Mr Luther, that as the Board was not satisfied with work done he was willing to reduce the amount claimed.—The offer was accepted. A further communication was received from Mr D. E. Finlayson (for Finlayson Brts.) relating to the supply of sand for formation on Owens' road. The wrifer asked the Board to comply with his demands.—The Board having already dealt with the matter no action was taken. Mr D. B. Livingstone wrote re purchase of old bridge timber.—Left over pending inspection. Mr Haycock was authorised to get some channels cleaned out on Marshall's road. It was reported that the road loading to Mr T. E. Foster's place was in a very bad condition on account of the culverts being choked up, and there being no outlet for the water. The adjoining owner had spent considerable labour in deepening his drain, but considered that he was entitled to some remuneration if his property was to be made the channel for taking all the flood water.—The matter was left to Mr F. Livingstone to confer with the partits. On the motion of Mr Sing and Mr Haycock, a general rate for the present year of J of ald in the £ was struck Accounts amounting to £49 7s Id were passed for payment.
