IMPERIAL REQUISITIONS.
DISPOSAL OF THE BALANCE.
FEDERAL APPRAISEMENTS.

MELBOURNE, Jan. 16. Mr Hughes has announced that the first wool appraisements were highly satisfactory on the basis of clean cost, they were cabled to London where they were critically examined by English experts, and endorsed as technically correct in all particulars. The Imperial Government has adopted the suggestion that payment be made 14 days after the appraisement. The Commonwealth will retain 10 per cent of the money for adjustments.
Arrangements have been completed tor the Imperial Government to purchase the exportable surplus of sheepskins, equal to 4000 bales monthly including all available crossbreds at prices nxed by the Commonwealth sheepskin appraisers plus charges. The balance will be sold by public tender through the central wool committee, which will nx a reserve price of not less than the appraisement value.
