PRIVATE F. L. RYBURN.
Frank Leslie Ryburn, who was previously reported, missing, is now reported to have been killed in action* He was the youngest son of Mr James Ryburn, Paterangi, and was farming with his brother Douglas, at Morrinsville when the war broke out. He volunteered, and was sent with the 3rd Reinforcements in the infantry, to Egypt. Soon after the first landing at Gailipoli he was sent to Cape Holies, and transferred later to Gaba Tepe. He was three months in the trenches at Gailipoli, and was wounded on the 12th August in the attack on Sari Bahr. He was taken to England and sent to King George's hospital. After four months' treatment he was sent out again to Egypt. When the New Zealand soldiers were sent to France he was one of the number, and landed at Marseilles in April, and was railed to the north of France. He took part in the trench warfare in France, and wag with the New Zealanders in the advance on Flers, b;ing killed in action on 16th September, 1916, fighting bravely for his King and Country.
