PROGRESS AT WHITIORA. CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Whitiora Bowling (Muh was held Wednesday afternoon, when Mr J. T. Home occupied the. chair in the absence of the president. There was a good attendance of ladies. Financially Uio club lias had a very successful season, the amouni of revenue, including a balance of £1 lf!s Gd from the previous season, being £3B lis, members' subscriptions totalling £23 10s. The expenditure amounted to £3B Is -id, but there is a balance from the results of the winter evenings, winch will permit of a credit of over £2 10s to commer.ee the new season. In interclub games a very high standard was attained, the club not losing a game, as the following results show: Against Frankton, 3 wins and 3 losses: v. Cambridge, C wins and 1 loss: v Ngaruawahia, 5 wins and 2 losses; v. Hamilton, 3 wins and 2 losses. The special day on the lawn, accorded the Queen of the South fund, proved most enjoyable, {aid resulted in £7 12s being handed to the fund. At the Rotorua tournament, in February, the club's president (Mrs Dillicar) earned the high distinction of being runner-up in the open championship. To mark the success a complimentary '-At Home" was given, and was attended by representatives from Hamilton, Frankton, Cambridge, and Ngaruawahia clubs. • Ttic various competitions played "during the season resulted as follows: —A championship, Mrs Dillicar, runner up Mrs Turner; B championship, Mrs Jenkin; the runner-up was not decided, but Mesdames Brown, Bennett and Mitchell will play off for the honour during the coming season. The A and B championship doubles were won by Mesdames Dillicar and Jenkin. The thanks of the club were expressed in the report submitted to yesterday's meeting, to Mr Home and Mesdames Blomiield, Dillicar and Prenton for the presentation of trophies. Appreciation was expressed at the work the Bowling Club had done on the lawns during the winter months, and they gave promise of being in excellent condition for the new season.

The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs T. J. Mitchell: vice-president, Mrs I. A. Blomfleld; general committee, Mr J. T. Home, and Mesdames W. Turner, B. Pilkington, J. T. Browne and E. Hodgkinson: match committee, Mesdames Blomfleld, \V. W. Dillicar, and Mr Home: secretary and treasurer, Mr P. J. Prenton. It was resolved to open the season on Saturday next, and appreciative votes were accorded to the president and secretary for their work during the past season. For the coming season's championships Mrs Mitchell has donated the trophy for the "A" grade and Mrs H. B. .lenkin for the "B" prade players.
