LATEST GERMAN COMMUNIQUE. AMSTERDAM, June 25. A German communique states that the situation of General Yon Mackensen's army is unchanged, hut a portion of General Von Linsingen's army was obliged to cross to the south hank of the Dneister in the face of a superior enemy's counter-attack. Our attack further up the river is progressing. THE GERMAN PHALANX. BECOMING IMPRACTICABLE. Received June 25, 11.20 a.m. LONDON. June 25. The correspondent of the Morning Post at Petrograd states that the Germans again employed the phalanx formation in the direction of Rawaruska. The German troops comprised picked regiments from the French front. The formation was temporarily dissolved after forcing the passage of the San owing to the difficulty of supplying an enormous number of men in a restricted area over long lines of communications. It recovered its effectiveness because, the stubborn Russian resistance delayed the speed of the German advance. Though the formation continues to be effective, it is rapidly losing speed and compactness, and is becoming impracticable as communications become more and more difficult. N RESTORATION OF POLAND. COMMISSION AT WORK. Received June 26, 9.15 a.m. PETROGRAD, June 25. A Comission of six Russians and six Polos under General Goremykin's presidency is studying the restoration of Poland territorial integrity and autonomy.
