WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

."\lr G. P. Bailey presided over a special meeting of the Waikato County Council yesterday. There were also present (Vs. Ross, Newell, Paterson and Primrose. The secretary of the Te Hoe branch of the Farmers' Union forwarded copy of a letter from the Minister of Public Works in which he stated that his Department had chosen a site near section 121 (Sandy Drain) for the now bridge. This site the branch forwarded in preference to section 17G (Proctor's). Cr. Newoll said that if the settlers were prepared to take the necessary steps to connect up the road lie would favour a bridge at both sites. After some discussion it was deefded to ask the Minister of Public Works as to where it was proposed to erect the bridge, and to point out that the Council had made arrangements for the work being carried out on Proctor's sit.. A special order was moved, for confirmation at the next meeting, declaring the road drain on the road adjoining sections 45, G9 and 08 of the Parish of Tamahere, and on section GR from the point where the railway crosses the road to the point where the drain joins the creek, a public drain under the control of the Tamahero Road Board.
