WAIKATO TROTS. TO-MORROW'S "MEETING. Many of the horses to take Dart in the Waikato Trotting Club's meeting at Claudelands to-morrow are already in town. These include some of the finest trotting strains in New Zealand; for, as such meetings are comparatively few in the Dominion, the best animals are able to be present at all the assemblies of any importance. Waikato itself has produced some splendid types of trotting horses, many of which have won large stakes and been sold at substantial figures. The members of the local club are enthusiasts, and quite capable of conducting a first-class meeting. As a totalisator permit has been secured and substantial stakes offered, acceptances are large, and the attendance tomorrow should he correspondingly big. The first race starts at 12.15 p.m. WAIPA RAGING CLUB. OPENING MEETING AT CLAUDELANDS. At a special general meeting of the Waipa Racing Club the chairman of the committee, Mr J. H. Elliott, said that the programme of events for the opening meeting of the club on December 1 provided for £SOO being given away in stakes. The club has purchased a new property, but it is not possible to have the grounds and the necessary appointments ready, and permission has been sought by the club to hold its first meeting at Claudelands. Permission, in view of the special circumtsances, has been granted by the Department of Internal Affairs to hold only the first meeting on other than the club's course. The chairman pointed out at the meeting that the sanction of the South Auckland Racing Club had yet to be obtained, but in this connection no trouble was anticipated.
