DE WET'S TREASON.
APPLICATION FOR NEW TRIAL.
BAIL REFUSED
Received June 23, 11.45 p.m
BLOEMFONTEIN, June 23
The Court found that De Wet intended to upset the Government and proclaim an independent Republic, and they accepted the contention that the movement was an armed protest. It was inconceivable that De Wet could hare expected to be allowed to march through tfie country to the rebel Maritz without the Government opposing him. The Court refused De Wet's application to be allowed bail pending an appeal.
