DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.
CAMBRIDGE v. TE AROHA.
Yesterday a team of eight riflemen journeyed from Te Aroha to Cambridge, and had a contest with the local rifle club. The match was a fairly even one, the visitors proving victorious by 29 points. This is the first occasion on which the Cambridge Club has suffered defeat, but they were quite prepared for it, the Te Aroha Club being looked upon as the crack one of the province. The conditions were 10 shots each at the 500 yds, and 600 yds range. The following are the scores:—
