SALE OF WORK
A sale of work, the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the funds of the Frankton Anglican Church, was held at St. George's Hall yesterday. The sale was opened in the afternoon by Ven Archdeacon Cowie, when there was a good attendance of ladies, and during the afternoon good business was done. In the evening the hall was crowded, and the various stalls were depleted before closing time of the numerous articles which they contained. At the tea rooms, too, brisk business was experienced, and the Church funds will be considerably augmented as the result of the sale. The hall was neatly and tastefully decorated by the ladies of the Church Guild, to whom the major share of praise is due for the untiring efforts to make the sale the pronounced success it undoubtedly was. Mrs E. L. Harvie perfomed the duties of secretary, and the willing band of ladies associated with her worked hard in the prosecution of the sale of the various wares to the public. The various stalls and their principals were :
Work Stall—Mrs Pearse. Fancy Stall—Mesdames Herbert and Lowe. Sweet Stall—Mrs Leonard. Produce Stall—Mrs Tonge. Tea .Rooms—Mesdames Steele and Watt.
