1 I MAR I , last night. I he rain storm cleared off early this morning. Reports of minor damage bv Hoods are being received from the country. Ihe check to harvest and the wetting of stooks may have somewhat serious result.

I his afternoon a cloud-burst occurred on the hills near Fairlie, and an unusual torrent flowed down the main county road, through Fairlie.

Ihe stream was iSin deep at the I*airlie Hotel, and considerable damage was done to the road bv the scour. The heavy sea on the coast did no damage.
