Received October 21, 8.30 a.m. NEW YORK, October 20. The Merchant line's steamer Berkshire, from Suvannah to Philadelphia with a cargo of cotton, is on fire, and the passengers are panic stricken. The Clyde liner Apache is standing by and has summoned help by wireless.
