The murder mystery continues to baffile a whole army of police and detectives. The only clue is a statement by a j girl in a shop oeneath Trevascuss' ! room thai on Thursday a well-dres-sed young m,an called on Trevascus. ! She heard a bump but took no notice. She saw the man afterwards, and he appeared agitated, and was tremjiling, but she did not attach much j importance to the fact until informed i of Saturday's discovery. Trevascus is described as a can- j tankerous mar., having many eoem- I ies. Exactly what profession he fol- j lowed is not stated, but he appears j to have dealt in precious metals. The medical examination reveals nine distinct wounds on the head. A NEIGHBOUR'S STORY. VISITOR'S STRANGE ACTIONS, j SYDNEY, Nov. 6. The police found a letter in Trevascus' room signed Fisher, stating; he would call at 9.30 o'clock on Monday night. Deceased's neighbour, who was with him at that time, says a man called, and on seeing him declined, to come in, sayiiigi he had forgotten his hag, and would call later. He <i_ not come again' that night. Trevascuss was nervous, and pressed his neighbour to stay to a late hour. The police are unable to trace Fisher. £250 REWARD. (Received Nov. 7. 9.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 1. The Government is offering a regard of £2-">0 for the apprehension 0 f Trevascus's murderer. The police are convinced that robbery was the motive of the crime.
