Although the demand was only moderate at auction ail were eventually sold. Prices :2 to 2>k year old steers £4 2s to £4 12s, mixed 12 to 15 months old cattle £2 17s to £3, 18 months old steers £3 15s, empty cows in fresh condition £4 7s 6d to £4 18s, 2 year old empty heifer 9£3 10s to £4 ; spring cart horses £l2 to £ls. At iMaitamata on same day 885 bead of cattle came forward, also sheep and pigs. There was good competition throughout and we report & most successful sale. HAMILTON. At Hamilton on Thursday we penned 280 head of cattle and 340 sheep ; also pigs in large numbers. Sheep were rather 'dull of sale but nearly all other stock changed hands at auction or afterwards. FARMERS' AUCTION CO. The Fawners' Co-operative Auctioneering Company report— OHAUPO. At Ohaupo on Tuesday October 31 wd held 'jour annual spring cattle sale, when we yarded 1756 head of cattle, the majority being store cattle. A few pens of 3 to 4 year old steers made from £6 15s to £8 Is, store steers same age mapjing £5 12s 6d to £6 6s, 2 year steers £4 to £4 10s, 15 to 18 month steers £3 lis 6d to £3 15s, choice yearlings £3 3s to £3 7'Si 6d, smaller sorts £2 to £2 10s, store cows £3 6s to £4, 2 year dairy heifers £4 10s to £4 15s for best sorts, others £3 10s to £4, springing cows and heifers up to £8 ss, bulls £3 3e to £8 Bs, a tew aged ewes with lambs 14s 1 9d, cull hoggets 10s 9d .and lis.
PIO PIO. At Pio Pio on Wednesday November Ist the combined sale was held. Our entry comprising 373 head o'f cattle and 109 ewes with; 90 per cent lambs, the latter making 21s. There was -a keen inquiry for cattle and 'good prices obtained. Fat steers £8 15s to. £lO 15s ; 18-moctli heifers, £3 15s to £3 18s ; fat cows, £7 14s ; fresii 2 5-year steers £5 10s to £6 Is ; 2-year empty heifers, £4 3s to £4 7s 6d ; 2 year steers up to £4 15s ; choice yearling steers up to £3 15s ;> 'dairy cows and heifers £5 5s to £7 ; bulls 5 to 6gns. CAMBRIDGE.
We held a sale of furniture etc. at Cambridge on Wednesday last 011 behalf of Mr" Wm. Hogan. There was a good attendance 'and satisfactory prices realised. TE ANGA. On November 2nd the oombined sale was held at Te. Anga vards-our entry consisted of 82 beau of cattle and 70 hoggets—the latter made 13s 6d ; dairy heifers made £3 15s toi £4 5s ; yearling steers, £3 to £3 10s ; 21-year steers £5 ss. MORRINSVILLE. At Morrinsville on Nov. 3rd we held our usual monthly{ sale—the yarding consisting of 1008 sheep and 65C head of cattle Fat shorn wethers 16s 6d to 19s : fa.t ewes (shorn) 12s to 14s ; woolly wethers, 19s 6d ; woolly ewes, 16s 6d ; shorn hoggets did not seli ; small fat steers, £7• 4s to £9 15s ; fat heifers, £7 to £7( 8s ; fat cows, £5 10s to £8 ss; fresh cows. £4 10s to £5 5s ; 3-year-old store steers, £5 14s to> £6 4s ; 2-year steers in good order, £4 11 s Choice dairy heifers, Jersey and Holstein cross and empty, £5 5s to l £6 , Shorthorn cross, £4 5s to £4 10s : yearling heifers up to £4 5s ; good yearling steers to £3 5s ; others not so good £2 to £2 10s ; dairy heifers near calving, £6 to £8 ; cows close up to profit up to £lO ; about 20 bulls made from £5 5s to 12*gns.
