MEETING OF COMMITTEE
(Own Correspondent.)
A meeting of the Library committee was held last evening, there being present : Messrs M. Butler (chairman), U. T. Tudehope, C. Boyoe and C. H. Priestly. It being found that the local booksellers provided magazines at a priee eqjual to the wholesale houses, it was decided to continue trading with them.
It was decided to request the Borough Council to carry out the necessary alterations to the ladies' lavatory.
It was reported that the arrangement made with Messrs Upton and Co., of Auckland, for the supply of new hooks, was working in a very satisfactory manner, and it was resolved to continue trading with that firm.
The credit balance at date was shown at £33, after discharging all liabilities, so it was resolved to increase the supply ol new books. Some subscribers being behind with their subscriptions, it was decided to have notice slips printed warning subscribers that the librian was instructed not to allow those in arrears to have more books until subscriptions are paid.
