Old Man's Revenge.

ADELAIDE, Sept. 4. At the Criminal Court Thomas Henry Glendinning, 77 years old pleajded gnialty of having shot at Edgar Herman Day, jr., with intent to kill. It was stated in evidence that Glendkmiag, complained to Day, wh 0 was his landlord, that his children continually annoyed him. Day abused him, rolled him in the mud, and kicked him, and then placing him across his knees, slapped him like a child in the presence of the children. The old man filled a gun with sparrow shot, and in the words of the Chief Justice, '-'peppered the young rascal who had insulted him." No fewer th a u 90 shot wounds were inflicted on Day, hut none of them was dangerous. The Chief Justice said that he had been shocked when ha read the depositions. He had iiever heard of a case in which an old man had hoon treated with so much indignity. The old man, after punishing one of his tormentors, endeavored to take his own life by inflicting several wounds in his head with a revolver. Justice would he met by Glendinning being imprisoned until the rising of the court.
