The Territorials.

General Sir Herbert Ptumer. has accepted the position of Honorary Colonel of the 4th. Regiment (Waikato) Mounted Rifles. Writing; under date of 3r>d August to Colonel Bell, he says :—"General Godley has forwarded to me an application from you that I should 1-ecnme Honorary Colonel of your Regiment. I am writing! to him to say that I feel highly honored Ivy the request which I have much pleasure in acceding to ; a pleasure which is enhanced by the fact that you—the commander of Regiment—and I have teen closely associated on active service in the field. I hope you will express to all ranks in the Regiment my appreciation of the honor they have done me in asking me to he their Honorary Colonel. I shall always follow a! 1 their doings with the greatest : nt;rast."
