(Own Correspondent.) TENNIS CLUB'S DILEMMA. If the railway station and yards are altered as mentioned in a recent issue of the Times the local tennis courts will be destroyed and a church which adjoins Messrs Gould's .and Hethrington's will hiavs to lue remo v ed- It is to be hoped tbat if the Railway Department intend to start the work this summer it will gave the tennis club a chance of constructing new courts. Seeing) that the club spent close on £IOB on the courts last year, it would on«ly he a fair thingi for the, Department to provide new ones, if the present (grounds are taken up. THE BUILDING TRADE.
The 'building trade is still brisk in Ngiaruawahia, and the latest structures to ibe completed are a block of three ©bops, and a fiftesnroomed, .hoarding house. These have been erected for Mr C. F. Hansen, and will all be occupied within the next two weeks.
NEW BAKERY. What might be classed as the most-up-to-date blakery outside the city of Auckland is the one just completed here for Messrs Green and ColeTocrook. It is built entirely of brick, and the oven is one of the latest, being of the side-furnace type with special titles. At the side of the oven is built a big coal room capable of holding a truck of coal. PERRO CONCRETE BUILDING. The general appearance of the tfusiness portion of Ngjaruawahia will be greatly improved when the fine new ferro-concrete building for Messrs Green and Colebrook has }yeen erected. The new building will be placed on the same site as the present one, only it will be much larger and will be divided into two large compartments, besides offices and store-rooms.
