AUCKLAND FRUIT AND FRODUCIMARKETS,,

The Star reports as follows on the Auckland fruit and produce market: Tne fruit and produce markets generally bavd been heavily supplied du.-ing the woik. Suppliet of new potatoes of prime quality came to band in quantities to a very unsteady market, and values ruling were very wide apart. For this and other farm produce lines the dernan 1 was exceedingly slack. Vegetables were fully plentiful to a very poor demand. In dairy produce lines most of the farmers' consignm -nts of butter arrived in po)r condition, Eggs were in short supply, but chesse wa» fully plentiful and was slow of sale. Fruit oontignmeati increased from day to day, and values declined accordingly. In the early part of the week all to hind sold under keen competition, but at yesterday'e sale an enormous supply of peache» was staged to a heavy drop in values. In poultry supplies were very light, and prices arc about equal to last week's rates, there was no business in other produce during the holiday season.
