ST PETER'S CHURCH.

MEETING OF PARISHIONERS. The quarterly meeting of parishioner! ni St Peter's Church was held last evening when there was a fair attendkee, the Vioar, Rev. N. C. W. Radcliffe, presiding. Various reports were presented and adopted.

At the conclusion of the routine business, the question of raising funds for the erection of a new church was considered. Ths Vicar said everyone he had approaohed on the subject, showed a hearty interest in the project. They had to-aim at raising 41,000 to build a churoh worthy of Hamilton. It was not a large sum considering the large number of people who belonged to the church, in faot it did not amount to more than 410 per head, by straight out giving. That was the best way to raise money, if tbey could do it, but various methods had been suggested, and many offers of assistence*- had been reoeived. He would like ea expression of opinion from the meeting on the cfuestion. Ihey had already about 4130 in hind, and various friends were doing exoellent work, A week's carnival and sale of work had been suggested.

Messrs Snell Bros, offered to set the ball rolling with a donation of 420 each The vicar said the Society for Propagating Christian Knowledge would probably assist to the extent of 4120. + After further discussion the following oommittee was set up to report, as early as possible in the new year, on the question of holding a week's carnival :-Messr« A. iswarbnek, G.
