PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

The above Board met at Cambridge yesterday. Present:—Messrs E. Fisher (Chairman), J. Anderson and E. Eeynolds. The Chairman's aotion in letting a contract to Mr Thos. Vickers for forming a road near Watson's corner, Pukerimu, at 7s per chain, was endorsed. Mr J. Vickers wrote drawing attention to the unsafe condition of the bridge near his property. The Chairman was authorised to attend to the matter. The Agricultural Department notified that African box thorn had been proclaimed a noxious weed. Tht Chairman and Mr Reynolds stated box thorn made a splendid hudg/ 1 , and did not spread like other weeds. On the application of Mr W. Purchas, solicitor, Auckland, it was decided to substitute Mr J. Mcpherson's name for Mr ilcNeight's. Accounts from W. Souter and Co. (£2 8s 7d) and J. Teddy (j£l 10s) were passed for payment. Owing to the scarcity of manual labour, it was deoided to defer putting any work in hand for the present. Mr Keynolds said he never knew labour to be so scirce as at the present time. The members then sat as the Cambridge West D mini Boird. The question of insUlliug windmills ant pomps for the purpose of supplying Domain lessees'paddocks with water was introduced by the chair man, but deferred till next meeting.
