THE NEW JUDGE.

SOME NAMES SUGGESTED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last night. There is a good deal of speculation in Wellington legal circles as to who will receive the appointment of Judge of the Arbitration Court under the legislation passed last session. The names of Messrs Sim (the wellknown barrister and solicitor of Dunedin), J. W. Poynton (public trustee), and District-Judge Haselden are mentioned as strongly in the running, with the chances in favour of the first named. When the matter was mentioned to the Minister for Justice this morning he said that Cabinet had not yet discussed the question, and he was unable to say when a decision would be come to.
