(By Teleojuph.—Press Association ) WELLINGTON, This day. ' MrC. E. Briggß, aged 61, well- . known many years ago as manager of The Press, at Chri-stchurch, died at Picton last night. Mr Briggs had been employed in the Audit 'Depart, raent at Wellington in recent years, and was spending a brief holiday W, Picton to recuperate from an operation he had undergone here. He was taken suddenly ill yesterday and died on the way to the hospital. He leaves a widow and four children.
