KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meet'ng of the Kirikirirca ttoad Board was held yesterday, when there were present Messrs Paterson, Bollard, ?eddon and C litty, Mr Patarson was voted to the chair.
Road Over-eeb.—Mr J. Liwton resigned his position as road overseer, and it was deoided to offer the position to Mr P. Ryan. Kuakura Drain.—Mr H. D. Bedford wrote offering to pay a share of the oost of draining the new road to the Rmkura Btition.—Received.
Koad IsrntoVEMEN'Ts. Twenty-three ratepayers ia the Maugawara tnd Taupiri district petitioned for improvements to Netherby road, as it was almost impassable during the winter.—lt was decided to leave the nutter in Mr Bollard's hands.
Tender".—The only tender for 35 chains of draining at Hukanui received was fri m E. 0. Ross at £72 103, the eatimite being X 53 13s. It was decided not to acoopt the tender and to give Messrs Chitty and Beddon authority to employ labour.
Gvekseers' Distiuch.—On MrChtty'e suggestion it was decided lo re-arrange the of the overseers' di£triota. Cuttings in Hills. Vilr Paterson reported that Mr Wallace had offered to cat down Barclay's hill and at Malcolm's oreek for Xi) 100, and it was decided to g> t the work done.
Taui'iri Ngaruawahia RoiD.-On Mr 80l ard's recommendation, it was decided to grade the Taupiri-Ngaruawahia road from Stubbing bridge to Taupiri. Foreman's Kki>ort.— H. Winter, the foreman, recommended that 50 chains ol re-forming be done on the Piako Road, n> ar the Newsti'ad station, als'> past Mr Alisseu's fection. The tram road wanted sandiui; 500 yards behind Mr Chitly'.-, and pjrtions of the road naar th* Kirikiriroa railway station required att ntion.—Adopted. Work on Roads.—Mr A. Lorie, of Hcri-liaro Downs, asked that the Board grant him assistance in making passable the road so as to allow him access to his property. Mr J. Barugh, and eight oth ir property holders, patitioued the Board to grade, form and sand the main road to their properties as far as Mr Rowell'e.— Messrs Barugh and Lorie waited on the Board in support of the petition, and the Board decided to get Mr Fairburn to survey the road and prepare estimates. Finance.—The treasurer reported a debit balance of X7lB 18s id.
