ENGLAND'S POSITION. LONDON, October 31. Id the House of Commons Lieutenant Bellairs inquired of the Foreign Secretary whether the Anglo-Japa-nese treaty safeguarded Great Britaio against a war with the United States on behalf of Japan. Sir Edward Grey replied that tbe agreement was of a general character, but that there was no indication that it was likely to lead to war with any Power.
AN OBSTINATE BOARD. NEW YORK, October 31. The San Francisco Education Board has refused to abandou its attitude towards Japanese children, uuless the Federal Courts decide that the State law violates J ipau's tret ty rights.
