NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO'S.LTD., REPORT. Horses.—On Friday, at the Durham Yards, more horses were brought forward and disposed of than usual. Heavy draughts sold at from £2l 10s to £39 15s ; medium do., £l6 10s tu £33 i.O-; hacks and light harness norses, £o 5s to £lB 10s. Tbe racing pony Hopscoton realised 72 guineas, Eia Ora 20 guineas, and the pony by Cyrenian—Pansy, 14 guineas. Cattle.—At tbe jNewmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were yarded in larger numbers than usual and sold at advanced rates. Beef was yarded in full quantities, many of the cattle being of excellent quality, although no extra heavy weights were yarded. Oxen advanced on last week's rates j cow, 17s to 20s per 1001b. Steers sold at from £6 153 to £l2 15s; oows, £3 153 to £B. Dairy cows brought from £3 15s to £7 10s; empty cows, £1 17s to £4 6s. Sheep were yarded at the Newmarket Yards in moderate numbers and sold at advanced rates, wethers selling at from £1 Is to £1 10s tid for one pen of extra choice wethers ; ewes, 16s 9d to£l 7s 3d; hoggets, 13s6d to £1; lambs, Ids 6d to £l. Pigs.—scarce and wanted. Porkers sold at from £1 Is to £1 18s; weaners, 9s 6i to 16s. At Maungaturoto on Saturday we had a good yarding of cattle and satisfactory prices were realised. Grown steers sold at £5 16s to £6 7s 6d ; dairy cows, from £3 2s rjd to £5 10s; cilves sold to £1 7s. We submitted an average catalogue of hides, skins, aad tallow, an lines moating with keen competition at late rates. Hides.—Market firm. Prices are at from par to Id decline, as compared with the closing sales of the last series.
