PATERANGI
From Our Own Correspondent. On Friday evening a social given bj the Ladies' Hocsey Club committee waa held in tha Taterangi school. The evening being fine, visitors from the surrounding district patronised the entertainment making it a success. During the evening, items were rendered by the Messrs James, Worthiugton and Kay. The musio was kindly provided by Mrs W. G. Macky and Misa B. Germann. A meeting of the Farmers' Club was held in the hall, but the attendance was not as good as usual. A paper on "National Pensions " was given by Mr F. C. Germann. A meeting of the Scaool Committee was held on Wednesday evening. dinee last meeting a stove, which the Government granted, has been placed in the school, and is much appreciated by teacher aud scholars. For some time dissatisfaction has been expressed .vith the changing of books, aad it was resolved that the chairman, Air H. Webb, write to our member, Mr M. J. GreensUde, to get nirn to bring the matter before tne Gjvernuieut.
