The annual meeting of the Waltcu Tennis Club was held in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening. A committee was elected for the ensuing year, with Miss B. Campbell as secretary and treasurer It was decided to open the season in the first week of October by a garden party on the tenuis grounds. In the hands of the present committee, it will, no doubt, prove a success. The Uruawhao creamery building is now finished, but cinnot be opened until the machinery arrives. 1 hear that Mr Hannah has sold hi 3 swamp to an Auckland firm, who intend shortly to erect a flax-mill, as they think there is sufficient flax on the property to keep a mill going. Fine weather has now set in, for which wo are thankful, as it dries up our roads and makes them once moro passable.
