WORDS OF WARNING
LONDON, September 6. The Times devotes separate special and leading articles to tbe last unappropriated territories in the Pacific, stating that their commercial and strategic importance is stupendous. The Times mentions that the Friendly Group is in a straight line between Sydney and Colon, and is destined, after the opening of the Panama Canal, to attain importance similar to tnat of Singapore. The paper warns Britain of the danger of supineness, emphasises the growing activities of Australia's foreign neighbours, and remarks that Germany is guided in her acquisitions, which includes important naval stations, by a definite plan of action towards ultimate with the Dutch possessions, should Holland enter into political communication with Germany.
