THE LATE KING OF DENMARK.

COPENHAGEN, January oU. The King of Denmark held his usual audience in the morning, when he appeared to be cheerful, but early in the afternoon he became indisposed and retired to his room.

His daughter, xMarie Feodoromi, suddenly saw that he was dying, and summoned her mother and relatives and two physicians. His end was peaceful. He had shown symptoms of heart failure.

Universal regret is expressed in Europe, aud many condolences have been received. The Crown Prince Frederick was proclaimed King today under the title of Frederick VIII
