ADDINGTON STOCK SALE CHKISrCHURCII, Wednesday. At the Addington live stock market todiy there were again fuirly large entries of stock and a good attendance. Beef was much easier, and fat lambs were not so firm as the previous week. There was a good demand for store wethers and rape lambs, but ewes were dull of sale. Pis»s met with a slightly increased demand. Fr.t ewes sold much batter than last week, and wethers maintained their values. There was only mo-lerate enquiry for store cattle and dairy cows. Store sheep.—There were over 30,000 store sheep yarded, and most of the line* of ewos were passed, but there was a good inquiry for wethers and fcrward lambs for finishing off. The principal sale? were: 236 two-tooth ewes, 17 s 6d ; 91 aged, 7s 4d; 107 at 5s 9d ; 207 four-tooth wethers, 15s lid; 171 two-tooths, 15s 4d; 305 two and four-tooths, 14s; 100 lainbs, 12s 6d ; 139 nt lis IH, 254 at. lls BJ, 43 at lis, 114 at 10s sd, 470 at 7s to 9s Bd, 62 at 9s Bd, and 80 at 8s 7d Fat lambs.—There were 2383 fat lambs penned, the quality not being equal to that of last week's entry. The butchers competed freely, but prices were not equal to last week's, the butchers' lots selling rather better than freezing lines. There were 1893 bought by exporters at 12s lid to 15s sd; 413 by butchers at 12s 3d to 15s sd, and 77 were passed.

Fat sheep.—The yarding of fat sheep was again a large one, ewes forming the bulk, the proportion of really prime wethers being small, and there were fewer merino wethers. The sale opened at about the same level of prices as at t'ne opening the previous week, and there was a better demand throughout for ewes until the last alley was reached, when prices fell Is 6d to 2s per head. Wethers showed no chang* in values. The range of prices was : Prim wethers, 18s to 20s 4d; others, lGs to 17s 9d; prime heavy ewes, 16s to 18s 8d; ex tra, to 20s ; medium, 13s to 15s Gd; age , 10s to 12s 6d ; merino wethers, 10s to lis 6d.

Fat cattle.—The supply of beef comprised 285 head, most of which were beefers and cows, and generally the quality of the yarding was not up to the average. This fact, and the largeness of the yarding, caused prices to be much easier. Seven Bteers from Mr W. O. Rutherford (Montrose) made £7 12s 6d to £9 2s6d, and other steers brought £5 17s 6d to £9 2s 6d; he - firs, £4 15s to £6 17s 6d ; cows, £1 17s 6d to £6 10s, equal to 20s to 23s fjr prime, and 16s to 19s for inferior te medium per 1001b. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 40s. Store cattle.—There was a large entry of store cattle, including a line of several hundred three and four-year-old steers from Kaikoura, all grown and a healthy lot of cattle, and one of the b«st lines seen in the yards for a considerable time past. There was rather a dull sale, ex. apt for biggest steer?, which met with soma competition. Prices were: Fifteen to 18months local cattle, 39s to 495; two-year steers, £2 18s to £3; three-year steers, £4 2s 6d to £5; thiea-year heifers, £1 5s to £5 ss; Kaikoura line of two-year steers, £3 17s 6d to £5 12s 6d; 43 three and fouryear steers, £6 12s. Dai-y cows were a moderate lot, and sold at £1 to £7 17a 6d.

Pig-.—The entry of pigs was smaller than the previous week, and there was some improvement in the demand. Baconers made 30s to 42s (equal to 3d to 3-} d per lb); porkers, 22s to 30s (equal to 4Jd) ; large stores, 25s to 31s; medium stores, 14s to 20s j suckers and weaners, 43 6d to 10s.

LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, January 25. At the wool markets there was a spirited sale, and the best prices of the seriej were realised. There is a strong demand for merinos. Wheat. The American visible wheat Bupply is estimated at 73,993,000 quarters. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., ia in receipt of the following cable from its London house:— " Wool sales progress firmly, and, as compared with last sale's closing rates, prises for inferior merino and coarse greasy crossbred are about par to 5 per cent, lower.
