BOWLING.

1 The bowling season at Cambridge was opened yesterday, the weather although showory in the morning clearing up beautifully in the afternoon. In formally declaring the season open, the president (Mr F. J. Brooks) welcomed the large number of people present, specially mentioning the visitors from Hamilton. The afternoon tea arrangements were supervised by Mrs Wells and Mrs Brooks, assisted by a number of willing helpers, and generally a very pleasant afternoon was spent by the players and their friends. The green superintendent (Mr F. O'Toole) and the secretary (Mr McDermott) had carefully arranged the many details which conduced to the enjoyment of bowlers. Sandes, on behalf of the Himilton bowlers, extended a cordial invitation to toe members of the Cambridge Club to be present at their forthcoming opening. Tn honour of the day, the National Anthem was sung.
