The Union Steamship Company wrote stating that the steamer would ba postponed till the date named. It, was decided that only one New Zealand match should ba played, namely, in Christchurch on December 30 and 21, and January 1. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Cuff, " That the Council appoint three men to select the New Zealand team-one from the North Island (if possible) one one Otago (if possible) and'one from Canterbury—the committee to meet in Christchurch prior to the i Wellington match to make the final selection."
