The conclusion they ! arrived at/was that the levelling would coat at the Council's" proportion 1 would be £3O; 5 He then moved that the Council pay to the Domain Board £3O in full discharge of all liability in connection'with the Domain gravel pit.-Seconded by Cr. Escotb, and unanimously agreed to. The Mayor further explained that the Domain Board would strip about 300 loads of gravel, which it.had offered to the Council for cirting away. It would be'thankfully received, and 'would be placed upon the Thornton Road. • The Fencourt EsTm-The Mayor had received an official'ackuowUUmnent of Ibis letter re settling the Fensourt Estate under the, Lands for Settlement Act, and he int|mated.that judging from private communications, received he thought something would be done in the matter at an early date.
