WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Tiie ordinary meeting of the Waikato County Council was held at the Council Chambers, Hamilton, at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. There were present: Crs. A. Primrose (chairman), J, T. Mears, A. W. Gane, H. J. Paton, A. Furze, J. P. Bailey and S. T. Seddon.

Licensing Costs.—The Council having asked the Colonial Treasurer to deduct the amount of the charges in connection with the late licensing election unpaid by the Pialto County and Cambridge Borough Councils from the subsidy due to these bodies, the Treasurer declined, replying that the Council had ample power under Section 10 of the Act of 1893 to recover all expenses incurred iu the election.— The clerk was instructed to intimate tho local bodies to this effect, and failing payment of the balance due to take proceedings to recover the same. Next Meeting.—The December meeting of the Council falling just at Christmas time, it was decided to allow the meeting to lapse, Crs. Primrose, Sedaon and Coates being empowered to pay interim account?.' 1 Hamilton Trawic Bridge. ~ The Town Clerk of the Borough of Hamilton wrote giving particulars of the work intended to be done to this bridge, amounting to £BOO, which will be provided as follows Government grant, £400; Borough of Hamilton, £200; Waipa County, £100; Waikato County, £IOO.

Dog Collars.—The following tenders were received for the supply of at least 400 dog collars, as per samples forwarded, viz. E. Jones. 6jd each; R. Davies, 7d; J. Kelly, 7-|d; an. unsigned tender atfid'was also received,—The tender of E. Jones was accepted. Payments.—The following accounts were passed for paymentW. A. P.
