MINISTERIAL MOVEMENTS.
(by telegraph.-press association). Wellington, Last Night. Hon. W. P. Reeves leaves for Australia in the Wakatipu to-morrow, chiefly on business connected with the Labour Department. The main object is to inquire as to the labour settlements recently started, especially in Victoria, about which very conflicting reports have been received. He will also take the opportunity to look into the hospital and charitable aid systems and the question of local government, in which New South Wales has begun experimenting, He returns before Christmas. [by telegraph.—own correspondent], Auckland, Last Ni&ht. Hon. J, G. Ward, Colonial Treasurer, wired to the various city and suburban members to-day that he hoped to be in Auckland next month and intended to speak on the night of the 7th or 10th if suitable arrangements could be made, the 10th preferred, Arrangements have been made for Mr Ward to address a public meeting in the City Hall on Monday, December 10th.
