KAURI GUM IN LONDON.
We are-glacl to note that there is an upward tendency in the London market for kauri gum. At recent auction sales held ! there prices are reported to have advanced from ss' to 10s per tori, and stocks were not appreciably increasing. A very fair view of the position may be obtained from the subjoined statistics; which are'furnisheel by the London correspondent; of a contemporary. !; From theseit will be seen that the consumption of kauri gum-is steadily increasing, and if the volume of exports'could be regulated at this prices might confidently be expected:—Stock : 1894, 2,848 tons; 1893. 1,244; 1892, 1,350; 1891,1,160,; 1890,857; 1889, 1,332. Imports: 1894,: 3,014 tons; 1893,2,249; 1892, 2,344; 1891,2,422; 1890, L 444; 1889,' 1792. Deliveries: 1894, 2,430 tons; 1893, 1,941; 1892, 2,039; 1891, 1,999; 1890, 1,893; 1889, 1-831., Imports for August, 1894, 248 tons; deliveries for August, 1894; 489-tons.
