The following message reached us at 4.15 this morning through the telegraph officials;—" The Hon, the Premier advises you to keep open for the result of the Banking Bill. The Colonial Treasurer, the Premier and Mr Murray are now being examined, The report by the Legislative Council Committee is favourable. It is absolutely necessary that the final passing of the Bill should appear in this morning's issue of your paper." The importance of the occasion, and the necessity for giving the fullest particulars iii connection with this subject, has necessitated our holding over a quantity of matter aDd must also be our apology for the late hour at which the paper will reach our subscribers.
