There was present a good number of locil buyers from all parts of the district anil prices as compared with, recent sales were maintained. The lots.purchased by the above buyers wiredUiibuted after the sale to purchasers-residing in various parts of the district.-\On Thursday boats and cari'ies were busy in landing the sheep on the Raglan side of the harbour. This being; our first sheep sale for some years, and being so. successful it no doubt will in the near future be followed by others. . i WEATHKR:--On Monday and Tuesday night the temperature was very cold and it might have been that we had been.tiansported' from, the neighbourhood of the tropic--, with a temperature of. nearly 85 degrees registered in thesli-ide to the region of the snowy mountain, so keen was the cold. Inland from Raglan some eight miles they are paid to have had frost, this is very early in the season., The weather is now much cooler and pleasanter than the Very hot season just over. Mr Billington" of Te Mata being a believer inan early burning, has had a success-fur burn on in's plane 1 a few.weeks since, and; already the young grass, is springing up • very lnxurianlly; ' In former 1 years few burns took place before the end of March',', and sowing of grass seed up to end of May, now many believe in a much early sowing, and indeed in most cast's'with much better result, as' the 'grass and clover then gets a good start before heavy fWts come on.
