RrrcHiK.-Claim, £2 18s Zd.-ifudgmont in this case win given in favjur of the plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs, to bo paid 10s down and in instalments of 10s per month. Same v. Hammond,-Claim, £3 lis 4d, £1 18s was paid into Court, and judgment was given for the balance with costs. •Jambs McPherson v, Geoiicib Edor-OOMIiK.-George Edgccnmbe, of Hamilton, newspaper proprietor and printer, was charged on the information of James McPherson, of Kirikirirnn, in tho county of Waiknto, Clerk and Returning Officer, that lie, within the space of six months last past (to wit) on tho lath day of April, 1893, at Hamilton, did unlawfully in contravention of provision contained in Section 42 Regulation of Local Elections Act, 187G, procure himself to be nominated as a candidate for tho olfico of member of tlio Kirikirima R'«d Board, well-knowing himself to be incapable undor provision contained in "The Road Koards Act, 1852," of holding an office, contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided. Captain McPherson, informant, conducted his own caso, am) Mr R, ,])yer appeared on behalf of Mr Edgecumbe, who pleaded not guilty. This caso lasted the whole of the day, and as tho evidence is protty voluminous and interesting as concerning the various Acts in connection with tho law pertaining to local bodies, we proposn to publish it in full. Tlio case was concluded at about S o'clock, when His Worlhip declared his intention of reserving judgment till tho next sitting of tho Court, a fortnight hence.
