NEW ZEALAND DAIRY PRODUCE IN THE LONDON MARKET.
■ ♦ TitK London correspondent of a contemporary says :-Thc winter butter market is the worst we have had for some years. It is fliflicult to get 112s per cwt for the choicest factory batter, Danish being 114s to 118s. It is a significant fact thai the Danish Parliament, has voted a grant of 10,000 k rollers for the purpose of opening a market for Danish butter in Paris, owing to the depression of tho English market. The heavy arrivals of New Zealand and Australian butter are mainly accountable for this state of affairs, the colonial article having come in excellent condition lately. Finland and Sweden, too, are sending large quantities, while margarine cats out the trade in genuine butter more and move. There is a better trade for New Zealand cheese, recent consignments having come in good condition, and being quoted at 48s to 54s per cwt, white Canadian sells at 50s. Fine Cheshire is quoted at 70s to 84s, and Cheddar at uSs to 745. I have some NewZealand butter which has been in my larder for over a month, and it is as fresh
as when it arrived.
