AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND.

The rain which fell to-day made the wicket very heavy, and the bowling of the Australians was simply unplayable, the innings of the Gloucestershire Eleven closing for 41. Clilfen took 7 wickets for 11 runs, Trumblo 2 for 14, nnd Coninghain 1 for 12. At the conclusion of the innings play was abandoned, owing to the rain. May 18. In the first innings of tho M.C.C., Wilson scored 31 runs; Flowers, 130; and Marchant, 103. Bruco took 2 wickets for 52 runs, Coninghain 2 for 05, Trumble 2 for SO, Giffen 1 f.»i-117, Tr.>tt 3 for 11. In their first innings, the Australians have lost four wickets for 84 runs, the principal scorers being: Trott, 29; Bruce, not out, 29; Graham, not out, 14.
