TE RORE.

School Matters,-Since writing my last I have been shown the annual balance-sheet and accounts of tho past year, which have just been returned from the auditor,' aud it is needless for me to say duly signed as correct, tho receipts being £l9 10s 9d, while the expenditure ran within a small sum of that amount. Oar school committee have agreed to both nominate and vote for Mr Wm. Liiinbe, of Papatoetoe, to fill the vacancy on tho Board of 'Education; caused by the retirement of Mr Motion, THRESHING OPERATION'S.-Mr Illltcllillson's stoam thresher is busy in our district threshing out tho grain crops, but owing to tho unfavourable wet weather little or no hoadway can be made, aud I don't much wonder at the men in charge of tho machine being very much disheartened. The deceased gentleman was an industrious man, and was greatly liked and much respected by all who knew him, A widow and grown-up family of four survive him. as well as some 22 grandchildren. The funeral, which took place on the Stli inst, was attended by a large number of settlers from both the Te liore and Tuliikaramea districts, who followed the body from his late residence to tho Alexandra ciiuetery. Tho funeral aervico was most impressively conducted by the Rer, W. H. Wilson, of Te Awamutu. Furze.—l would direct the attention of the Waipa County Council to the bad stite of several roads in this district, which will, if not attended to shortly, be totally overgrown with furze. Attention might also be called to Campbell's cutting on the Te Rore-Alexandra road, which is in _ need of repairs, andwhich, with early attention.could be carried out at a small cost,
