(BY TEIKGRAI'H.-OWN COUHKSI'OSnEXt). Auckland, Last Night, It is now definitely ascertained that Scott has written a lengthy statement which has been forwarded by tho gaoler to Wellington. He still, to a certain extent, thinks, or pretends to think, that the execution will not lake place. The purport of the statement, which will M'rivo in Wellington to-morrow, is kept a close secret from all but a few persons who have' immediate dealings with the prisoner. It is generally believed, however, that the document is a reiteration nf his innocence, which he protests to every onn who has any conversation with him.
