(by electric telegram copyright). Sydney, October 4. The trial of the directors of the Australian Banking Company has begun. It is expcctcd to occupy several days. The fire 011 board the British ship Brilliant has been extinguished. With the exception of a twenty-two ton disappearing 21m and a variety of non-inflammable material, all the cargo has been discharged. The fire broke out amongst some dunnage wood, and a quantity of ropes and sails were destroyed. The damage has not yet been estimated, but it is not likely to be large.
